Two years...and counting

Today marks our 2 year LID-versary waiting for our daughter. When we first began this journey in late November 2005, it was supposed to be only an 11-13 month wait. This is definitely not what we had planned, but God had his own plan! I know she will be "worth the wait," but it sure is difficult waiting! God is trying to teach me patience and I suppose I'm not a great student - I must need more practice!

Warmer Weather!

We had a very nice spring break. We played outside, went to the movies (Horton Hears a Who), went roller skating, and had friends over. It ended way too soon, but we did have a blast!

One week and counting until the mini! I hope that I survive. I was supposed to run 6 miles today, but my ankle/shin started hurting so I stopped. I don't want to get injured before Saturday. I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm planning to take before and after pictures! Check back next weekend!

Reese got to buy Alvin and the Chipmunks dvd and cd with his birthday money. They have been watching it all weekend and listening when they aren't watching!

Baseball has started and both boys are playing. We are busy during the week, but they are loving it. The games should be exciting.

No news on our baby girl yet. It sure would be nice to get a surprise sometime soon. Our agency got a new COP list - waiting children with a special need - but I don't think we are going to submit our name to be matched. I pray that these precious children do find their forever families soon.

Spring Break

Are there two better words in the English language? Well perhaps there are, but for teachers they rank right up there! Then finally it is sunny outside! We actually ran in short and short sleeved shirts today! Hopefully the weather will stay nice for our relaxing week at home.

What are we thinking??

Jerry and I are runnning in the mini-marathon in Indianapolis in just a little over a month. We've been training since December. It has actually been going pretty well. Jerry can run faster and longer than me, but I'm improving. I actually ran for 90 minutes straight a few weekends ago, which was about miles. However, we were inside! Today, we finally had nice weather - 50 degrees, so we decided to run outside. Oh my heavens. We were supposed to run 10 miles. We got nearly 9 and I'm dead. I've done nothing today since we ran at 11. My knees hurt and my ankles. Jerry keeps asking me how old I am?! It was so much harder running outside. The hills and oh my, the wind! I kept praying for God to stop the wind! My face has been red all day - I'm going with a sunburn, but it is probably wind burn! That was the longest I've ever run and in just a few more weeks, I have to run 13.2 miles!? What were we thinking??!

The boys are doing fine. They are anxiously awaiting spring and shorts weather. We have one more week and then spring break. Hopefully it will be nice around here.

No pictures today, but prayers would be appreciated that I don't die on May 3!

Dressed for Easter

Here are our precious boys dressed for Easter. They were both excited to wear ties and feel grown up. I'm so glad that they are good friends and get along well, most of the time. We had a great time making "empty tombs" at church, visiting with family, and having our annual Easter egg hunt in the back yard. Levi found the golden goose this year and was excited about the $5. Brooks and Reese got so much candy we didn't know what to do with it all. Unfortunately we figured out what to do with it, and the bowl is almost empty!

New Blog

This is my first entry of what I hope to be able to keep doing. We'll see how I do! Hopefully this will make the time fly by until we receive our referral for our daughter, Kierra Jo.
